I took out the three hex head screws and I assume the pipe and the insides slide out correct? This isn't happening..am I doing something wrong? I am in dire need of a repacking and this isn't helping the situation one bit hehe

It probably has some silicone sealant helping to hold it in.
Try wraping a rag around the exhaust end and twisting it with plyers. It will come out. It's a good thing for the fit to be real tight like that.

...and don't start jamming a screwdriver in there and prying. But it's not as if I'd know anything about doing something that stupid

clamp it up then start wiggling, eventually it'll come out...hopefully
