Problem shifting into first

Not sure if this is a sign of early transmission problems or not?? If the bike isn't moving, its almost impossible to get it into first gear. While I'm riding it goes into first gear with no problems at all. So I always have to start out in 2nd gear from a stop (unless I left it in first). This is on a 89 cr250. It goes into neutral and second real easy from a stop. Any kind of adjustments I can do??
