Punkin Chunkin

I forget who, but somebody posted a while back about punkin chunkin and posted a picture of their monstrous chunker. Well, while reading Dave Barry's blog http://davebarry.blogspot.com/ I came across a link to a yahoo news site about punkin chunkin.

Yes it was me, the Air Cannon I helped build the current world record holder, the Michigan guys come to our competion.

They are good guys and are alot of fun

I remember watching the Discovery show about it a few months back. It's amazing how shooting a squash across a field of grass can inspire some people to come up with remarkable machines. They even grow their own pumpkins to get just the right shape, size and density. Pretty cool stuff.

Oh this is soo cooool...I saw it on Discovery Channel the other day. Too bad I didn't know about it while the farm was still doing business.

We have chunckin near by, its actually on the way to Paragon, right off 309 on the south face of Blue Mt. where they have the corn maze every year. Its neat to see the tresrasae (sp?) catapults, they look like they are right out of Lord of the Rings :) .
Yeah, I have a spud gun too, Im making one for my bud for his birthday too. The current plan is to use tennis balls though for rapid consistant fireing :) .
