I have read all the threads regarding this mod. I weigh 180-185 without gear so the '01 (.40kg/mm) springs are what I think I need. I found a set and they are on the way. I have a line on a set of '99 (.38 kg/mm) springs for $20 plus shipping. My question is, is it worth having the second set around for that kind of money? I mean, is the difference in the springs and how they perform very subjective? Keep in mind I am an experienced rider but almost no woods experience. Would one riders' style vs another require a different spring even though they weigh the same? Thanks for the input.

I put a set of '97 springs in my '02 220. Like night and day!!
The bike was almost unridable with the stock. I weigh maybe 5 pounds less than you. Depending on your preferences, you may like either more or less. For $20.00 i'd get them.
