Queensland, Australia?

Wondering if anyone has done the Cairns to Cape York ride in Queensland. My Fiancee and I are heading down under for July and are planning on doing the trip with her Brother(lives near Cairns and works as a firefighter) and some of his friends.

Any tips, stories, or thoughts on this ride?

I was with my Wife in Port Douglas (just north of Cairns) summer before last. I can't remember the name of the company but there is one doing tours on XR600's up to Cooktown. I believe they were doing a 1 day tour but they also offered week long trips as well. The bikes were extremely well maintained and they all looked like they were having a much better time than I was.
