I ride frequently in an area behind my house and want to minimize the noise impact on my neighbors, so was thinking of getting a spark arrestor end can.

Are they a lot quieter than a stock muffler?

Do they reduce power much?

Anyone have any experience with the procircuit 'nature friendly' or the fmf q-stealth?

thanks

The FMF-Q is a very quiet pipe. My engine noise is louder than the exhaust note now with it on my RM. I like to ride in stealth mode and most of my neighbors don't even know I have a bike unless that they see it in my yard.

If you don't care what it looks like the DB Snorkel is very, very quiet.

+1 for DB Snorkel.

'cept now the exhaust is so quiet, my air cooled 500 rattles and sounds like it's going to shake itself apart. However it hasn't in 40 hours of operation so I guess it's supposed to sound that way.

just checked out the db snorkel. and damn its ugly, but it'd be the perfect thing for riding out the back yard, then just whip it off if your heading to the track etc.

if anyone else is interested their site (with pics) is here;

WWW.THEDBSNORKEL.COM

although I noticed in their faq section they said the difference with it on an fmf q was insignificant so maybe ill just go with one of them and be done with it.

thanks for the info.
