My local dealer told me that race fuel runs cooler then pump is this true? also would a top end last longer with race fuel?. I would be run in a 125 if that helps.
Thanks
Matt
Rich, do you mean the engine/cooling system as a whole won't run appreciably cooler? I thought race gas generally caused a richer mixture and that in turn caused a lower flame temperature and a cooler combustion chamber. (Which may not be noticeable as the bike "running cooler.")
Some do some don't . Assuming for the moment that a fuel does make the engine run richer, the jetting should be leaned out until the proper air/fuel ratio is reached which would put the temps closer to where they started. Race fuel actually allows you to run CLOSER to maximum power air/fuel ratios which would ultimately RAISE temps.
The dealer is an idiot who doesn't have a clue. Plain and simple. :thumb:
