replaced head gasket on 89 cr 250 (previous owner reused the old one and it had a progressive leak) after I put it all back together I started it up and all of the coolant seems to shoot out of the overflow hose. I double checked all hoses and connections but still haved problem. The guy I got it from said it was doing this before he sold it to me. Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

The water shot out of the overflow when you started it up because combustion pressure is leaking past the head gasket, pressurizing the cooling system. Pull the head back off, something ain't right...the head could be warped or cracked, or the gasket came out of place or tore during installation.

I'll bet the head gasket has been installed incorrectly. There is a tab on the gasket, and it should face to the rear of the bike.
Also, any "bumps" on the gasket, they should face upwards.
