Nice, I like the last one. But please, resize them (700px wide) or make them into links. I hate scrolling side to side to look at pictures.

Not bad..

1st one just didn't do it for me.. that sun is out of control.

2nd is again ok, but it's skewed, fix that and it might be a bit more interesting.

3rd was working until I saw that nasty red crap at the bottom, crop is your friend.

4th is about the best of the bunch for me... Nice shot, but it could use some cropping too... I'd remove everything above the wave cresting out in the water...

Positive note...

I think you have an eye for good shots. With a little practice, and persistence you'll be producing quality shots in no time.

I like number 2 (comp is good) and 3 (3 needs the horizon fixed big time tho). Here's a copy color corrected and straightened. Don't care for the crop, but it had to be rotated so much, that's all you can get. Tip; the dominate middle of the scene shouldn't end up in the middle of the picture. (in this case the bridge is the issue)

in film they teach us about the Golden mean. Is it 5:8 for pictures to? THat film class actual has me more interested in Photographry than film.

this is my first try at this kind of stuff. Like ever.

im using my moms camera. it is a sony 7.2 megapixel cybershot i think. Just a little point and shoot thing.

What benefits could you get from an SLR right now? I'm not even able to use my Canon Powershot's full options in mode M, so a high quality camera would be useless for now! Photography is fun, it will definitely become a hobby for me! How did you manage to take a picture of your camera :rotfl:

yah that is what my teach said is the generic term for it. Upon further research ive discovered that, yes it is 5:8s to be the most correct. Not that it matters that much.

It is amazing how the brain thinks, in Calculus today we were learning about the Golden ratio (directly link to Golden Means, in photography).

0.618054 : 1 is the brains understanding of perfect porportion, which by the way is just a hair under 5:8.
Pretty much everything in a human is affect by this. The length of your bones in conjunction to one another in particular.

Fun Fact for the day: It is said that the face of a human becomes more beautiful to the mind as it becomes closer to this ratio of width by length. Human bodies considered most perfect by the Greeks had many "Golden" Ratios



Examples that use this;

Pyrimids of Giza
Chambered nautilus
Playing Cards
The Mona Lisa
The entire human skeletal structure

I thought they all were good, I was the most impressed with the sun reflection on the water. Many cameras would wash this one out.

Not the same picture though. Theodore's has a blue sky whereas loudandproud's has a white cloudy sky. The picture is your own right?

That's a 20 second edit in PhotoShop.

They are different images.

holy crap that is cool.

I remember seeing a picture to something similar in a painting. The picture was taken in Maine this year on my vacation. I recall seeing something like that when i took the pic and is part of the reason i took it, but i never realized it was the same shot.

Good Find!! But yes i took the picture, and i didnt realize it was already published.
