Just took off the forks on my new, never-ridden '02 300MXC and noticed that there's a rattle in each fork leg, near the top of the forks. I shake them a bit, and feels (and sounds) like something's moving around in there. Never had that in the 50mm WP's, or any other fork for that matter.

This is my first experience with the 43mm forks, so is this normal or not? Thanks.

The fork springs have to have some slop otherwise when they are compressed it will catch on the guide. All my forks have a rattle if i shake them hard.If your worried loosen the caps and have a peek.

My 43's rattle like that when removed. It is the spring and you can tell it's the spring. Is this the noise you hear or does it sound like a tiny part flying around? Does the clicker function correctly?
