I have a 97 XR400 and I will be riding in Moab and Marysvale UT next week and was wanting to know if i should rejet for the higher altitude? I am currently running stock jets with a dual tapper needle 2nd position with unrestriced intake and pipe.

thanks

As I recall, 97 XR4s were jetted rich stock, anticipating removal of intake and exhaust restrictions. If you haven't re-jetted and are running that stock jetting, you'll run OK at 7000', but it will be rich.

If you want to re-jet for the best performance, we've found that a 158 main, 58 slow and the A16 (dual-taper) needle works very good at 7000', our starting altitude.
