So, i did close the slot in the compression cartridge by silver solder it and drilled 4 holes at 10, 15, 20 and 25cm intervals measured from the bottom of the cartridge. By closing the slot i blocked the easy fluid flow i had during 3/4 of the travel and by putting the holes at different intervals I now really have some progressive feeling during the whole stroke of susp. The holes i drilled are each 4mm. I even think that 3mm would have worked either but i did not have any backup so i went for the 4mm's.
Since the last hole closes at 10cm before bottom, the bottom resistance is great, it really builds up the pressure last stage of travel and than resist bottoming out. I do not know yet how it works on the motorcross track but untill now i am satisfied. Still feels good as trail fork with better progressive suspension the whole stroke. Great feeling to have done some fork building myself.
