Rear brake pads squealing like a stuck pig.

I replaced my oem pads with some EBC pads due to the fact they would squeal towards the ends of races. The new pads are doing the same thing. It becomes very unnerving (sp?) to hear that squeal and wonder if the brake will still work! Any help would be much appreciated. I don't recall the specific model of ebc pad, I think I just got the one that sounded like it would last longest.

Make sure the calipers and pads slide freely on the pins to prevent drag. You can try the RTV, but brakes can get hot enough to cook it. I use the blue brake silencer stuff from an auto parts store, it comes in a spray can.

If you were looking for long-lasting pads, EBC aint the brand you want! I wear them out in one or two rides. I use the OEM pads now, they last 5 or 6 times as long as the EBC pads did, and they seem to stop and feel just as well.

My brakes started squealing after getting some chain lube on them. After wiping down the rotors with brake/contact cleaner, the squealing went away.
