I installed an aftermarket rear shock spring on my 88 KDX. The spring vibrates terribly at around ¼ throttle. I have had it off twice, reset preload, sag. No luck. Any ideas?
I got the spring from Eibach. It was half the price of the OEM spring. I have been reading the forum threads on vibration. I think the vibration might be coming from another source (the pipe) and showing up at the spring. You should see that spring vibrate, it is something else. Any ideas from anyone would be great! I have a ride planned for this weekend.
I had that problem for a while on my 2000 KDX200. It turned out to be the FMF pipe (the stinger part). I safety wired the pipe to the frame which pulled the pipe away from the spring.
