I know this is not a 4-wheeler site but this is the only site that i know of that has a suspension fourm. Here's my question, When my 87 Lt250r is just sitting and you lift the back end up there is about 4 inches of play.. why is this,, what can be done to fix this,,, thanks for any help Jeremy...

That's sag, and it's not a bad thing. It helps keep the wheels on the ground when the terrain drops away. Check out some desert racing trucks some time to see serious sag....I know nothing about them other than it looks like they run 50% of travel in sag. I would assume (dangerous word) that buggies (4 wheelers) would be set up similar.

also, being that it's an '87 LT 250:scream: this could also be signs of a blown-out shock.

If you don't know the maintenance history of this quad, or if you know the shock has never been rebuilt, you might want to check into getting it done.
