Anyone running a 120/100-18 on the rear of their KDX. I am changing to KX forks and want a taller rear tire to help compensate for the higher front suspension. Original tire height per manual is 26.1 inches. A Maxxis IT 120/100-18 is listed as 27.5 inches. Will this tire fit the bike and the 2.15 rear rim?

Thanks-

Width ways it will fit fine. Height you may have a problem with. I have been running a Maxxis IT 110-100-18 and run the axle right near the front edge of adjustment (12-49 gear w 108 link chain). The foward portion of the rear fender is all black from the tire rubbing. I can't her it or feel it, but it's obviously happening.

Last weekend I went out with a paddle on the back. Side by side it looks to be a little over 1" taller than my IT. My axle is pushed back almost as far as possible. I actually ran out of adjustment with my snail-shell adjusters and replaced the pins with bolts and washers to get the axle back even futher (switched to a 110 chain). It still hits the front of the rear fender quite badly.

In other words, I would stick with a 110. Others may have different opinions, but remember, every manufacturer sizes their tires a little differently. I ran a 120-100-18 Kenda with no rubbing problems.
