I used them on a YZ85.. They mellowed the hit just a little. Not much though.

The biggest difference is when you swap out some old, worn petals with new ones. If the ones you have in there now are old and sacked out you'll definitely notice a difference. As Indy said, the dual stage setup helps smooth out the power.

What kind of bike? I prefer the V-force reeds.

It's a 1982 Yamaha yz125 and a 1981 Honda cr125. Smoother power is what the cr really needs!

You'll never get "smooth" power out of an 1981 125cc mx bike. Maybe with porting and head mods but even at that it's not going to be "smooth".

I installed the reed valves in the yz yesterday and it seems to have picked up a couple of hp. The stock metal reeds looked to be in great condition but I noticed that the Boyesen reeds were much stiffer. It was a very good investment. Now I need to install them in my cr.
