I have a 2001 yz250 and I am in need of a new rear tire. I currently have a size 100/90-19 tire. my question is can I put a wider tire like a 140/90-19 ? If so, can I expect any changes in handling.

bigger tire = more rubber you have to turn making your bottom end less responsive also it makes it harder to go from side to side if you do go wider dont go more than 110

I like the 110's and 120's for overall balance. If you go too wide on the rear, it always outgrips the front and makes the bike slide the front wheel around a lot. Rear wheel slides are good, front wheel slides (except when setting up for a berm) are bad.

Thanks for the info

I have decided to listen to all of your advice and just stick with the 110 size tire tanks again.
