I read on a web site somewhere that my 2004 kdx220 has a restrictor in the exhaust. Is this correct? Thankyou, Kevin

Some people will tell you that the silencer is restrictive. But I couldn't tell much if any difference when I went to an after market silencer. If you want a real power increase cut a window in the stock pipe about where it is indented for the radiator hose. Cut about 5" by 5" or 6 by 6. Inside you will find a lot of sheet metal with holes in it and a lot of oil soaked fiberglass. Remove the perforated sheet metal and the fiberglass. Yank and twist on the sheet metal and it will break loose. Grind The inside somewhat smooth and weld the pipe back together. This is a job for an experienced welder because the pipe is paper thin and easy to burn through. Or just practice and spend a lot of time and you can weld it up. Paint then mount the pipe and see how it runs.
