I have recently bought a '95 KDX, it has the following mods: FMF pipe, ISDE silencer,Boysen reed & airbox mod.

My problem is this: At low rpm (1/4 throttle) the bike super rich (white smoke, very wet exhaust), at higher rpm the bike cleans out and runs OK.

My jetting is: pilot 48, Main 155, air screw 1.5, clip #3. I have checked the reeds, air filter, piston etc. and all seems to be correct.

Can anyone pass along any insight to what may being causing this condition?

I live in California @ approx. 1500"

Put in a 42 or 45 pilot and start with the air screw at 1 1/2 out. White smoke sounds like oil or coolant to me. Check to see if your coolant level is dropping and/or it has oil floating on it (in the radiator not the overflow tank. The tank will usually lose coolant with no apparent reason. That's why I took mine off). See if you have a brownish, foamy gunk floating on your crankcase oil. What's your premix ratio? Are you still running the gas that was in it when you bought it? Try new gas with 40:1 synthetic like Mobil MX2T.
