has anyone fixed a rip in the seat cover with success? If so what did you use and how did you do it.I just put in an L shaped rip in my new bike.I was thinking of taking off the cover and gluing a patch on the underside. Then restaple the cover back on.

Take it to a shop that does custom upholstery. You'll find a ton in your local phone book. They can do a repair that you will hardly notice.
If you try to fix it yourself it will look half assed.

If you don't have a lot of money the Goop trick works very good. You can also slide a piece of heavy fabric (like denim) under the hole to help back up the Goop. It lasted 2 seasons for me.

The best way to fix it is to just buy a new seat cover :)

if you really want to keep the seat a patch placed under with contact cement will be strong and I would also use contact cement and add a patch to the top.
