I am currently looking into buying a 1997 or 1996 rm125 im not sure which you year it is for sure. The bottom end of the bike is gone. However a buddy of mine has the bottom end out of his 2004 rm 125. Would it fit into the top end of a 96 or newer 125? Thanks

What about the bottom end out of a 2001. If not what years would be compatible. Thanks

2001 was a major redesign for the RM's. I couldn't tell you which years for sure but it would definitely need to be prior to 2001.
