rm250,, what's a clutch shim?

hey, i was reading a magazine about rm 250. And it said that this year, it didnt come with the clutch shim kit since it had mods to the clutch this year.... what is a clutch shim, and was this some sort of flaw in 01 rm's?

I read the same review. I have an 02 RM 250 and have no idea what they were talking about. Whatever they're talking about, I'm sure they had to modify something, I think the clutch plates are thicker in th 03. It's my opinion that they're sourcing the plates from the same place as Kawasaki.
