Guys,

I am district 5 about a 12 miles east of Wheeling WV, just over the PA border. How far of a drive is it to this track?

Thanks,

My brother and I went...he decided the 12" of mud did not look fun. But I attempted to ride anyway. Apparently I am not much of a deep mud rider....I was done after one lap! Even though I had plenty of energy left, I just couldn't seem to get in the groove. It was certainly the most demanding track/ conditions I've ever attempted. I've riden lightning in the summer and think it's probably one of the more difficult places in this area even without four days of heavy rain. Does anyone have an experienced opinion or comparison? I look fwd to the ENJOYMENT of future HS...this one really showed me how much further I need to improve. Would love a copy of your video!!!!
Thx, Dan

Man, this brings back memories. I am just now getting back into the dirt after a 8 year hiatus (27 now) but Lightning Raceway was my very first harescramble. I was 16 on a POS 1987 CR250 and that track absolutely embarrased me. Talk about technical. And the mud there is miserable. Ah well, so much for memories. I need to get a bike now!

A few years ago when I raced at Lightning it what the same thing. I only did about 2 laps and I called it quits. It sure made every hare scramble after that seem easy though!

No, I didn't make it, I rode for abot 2 hours on my practice track and watched the Stillers in the super bowl. When I was done riding there were clumps of mud frozen to me and the bike, I'm glad I missed 12" of mud.
