Ok, I was just reading over the AMA rulebook and I came across CLAIMING. What's this all about? Can someone actually claim a bike these days? Just curious.

yep it sure is in there, and if you read it 30% over sugg retail.
so it don't happen much. I do get a kick outa the fact that they say they have to produce a "clear title and/ or bill of sale" HA like half those bikes out there aren't on some type of loan!

Hmmmmmm may need to address that rule.

Wardy,

30% over retail may seem like a lot, but not if you are claiming a factory bike:p Could a privateer use this rule to get his hands on a factory built bike? (I'm sure that the factories have more than 30% over retail in their bikes)

I'm still trying to figure out why that rule even exists:eek: Does it stem from the old "claiming" from horse racing?

yes that would be interesting but also realize that you are in the Amatuer Book not the pro book.

I don't know if those same rules are in the pro book
