This is probably a question that doesn't have a simple answer. My Gas Gas rear suspension works outstanding with an excess of 110mm sag, 112mm seems to be about ideal. Now, the YZ is a jack hammer at 112, better at 102 and OK @ 98mm. What I'm comparing is the ability of the rear suspension to react to curb type hits and still have big bump control. So, the obvious answer is to run the YZ with not as much sag, like 95 or so. But the problem then is the rear end starts to overpower the front into a stinkbug (nose down) attitude even with the forks flush. Does the less sag is better work because of the linkage progression occuring early in the travel, stiff valving (it has been revalved by a big name tuner) or both? Tuning suggestions or just box it all up and send it back?
Thanks
