seal near decompresser on a xr250r

I have an 2000 xr250r. there is some oil seeping from around f where the decompresser goes into the valve cover. do i have to pull the valve cover off to change this seal. this wont be a problem for me i just want ot know so i can plan accordinly. thank for the help.

You should pull the valve cover off to replace that seal. It makes things go alot smoother. Make sure you have a manual to get the torque specs to tighten the valve cover back up to spec. also. Hope this helps.
