seat cover help!

I want to get a seat cover for my bike but all the shop has is for a 1996-02 yz125 and I have a 1990.the guy at the shop said I couldn't get a seat cover for my bike that wasn't realy expensive but he said I could probably get it to fit.
the seat cover has no graphics exept two little yamaha patch es on the side.
how hard will that be to put on?
will it work?

Check out CEET, my daughter has a 89 YZ125 and they make nice
seat covers and graghics. I bought them through www.mxsouth and
had no problem with them

I've got a 1984 cr500 and CEET had a cover for my bike. I would imagine that they will have one to fit yours.

I think you should be able to find one for a '90, try another dealer

Why Not Make your own?

I just go to the local fabric shop and pick out a nice piece of naughahide.. It comes in all sorts of colors and is cheap compared to CEET or others. Then Just pull all the staples out of your old cover and take it off to use for a pattern.. You'll need help re-installing, rememebr that the naughahide stretches more in one direction than the other.. You'll also need some gorilla snot to glue it down and a staple gun.. ;) A hair dryer also helps

I have had that same thing happen to me many times here in Calgary, some dealers are just too lazy to look through a few catalogs and make some calls. What were you looking to spend? I just ordered a seatcover for my '97 CR250, it was an OK price, the first shop I called simply told me they didn't have any, they didn't offer to order one or anything, so I called somewhere else.

I wouldn't buy one for a different bike, it might look like it will fit and then after getting it mostly on you will notice its a tiny bit too small. Then you can't take it back.

My advice is shop around, you should be able to get a seatcover for about $75 Canadian. Another option is get an uplosterer to recover your seat, that may be much cheaper, and you could pick any color you want.

I did the same thing as zilla. Went into the local auto upholsterer, and bought a 3sq foot piece for $15. They wouldnt sell anything smaller, so tht was it. Fit right on, snugged it w/ some glue, and stapled all around the base. Looks sweet!

I've had our local car upholstery shop completely recover a motocycle seat for around $35.00 including material and labor.

E-mail Bruce Sanford - He has them for $17 including shipping and will ship via UPS or U.S Mail.

He usually sells them on e-Bay but will e-mail you a list of what color seat covers he has for your bike. I bought one for my 1990 CR 125 and he had several different styles/colors made by Ceet.
