It may sound crazy, but I ripped my seat on my 03' CR before my first ride. I went to the mall, went to the As Seen on TV store and bought the leather/vinyl repair kit. It worked perfectly, no one knew I had a tear but me. I dont know how large your tear is, but it works great on smaller tears.
