I am looking at the 07/08 YZ125 and YZ250. I would prefer the 250 because most people here have 125s. But the thing is im gettin new so the 125 would be cheaper. Also the 250 seems like a big Jump from a crf100f, Just i dont want to get a new 125 and then want a 250. Any Advice?

You want the 250 so you can outrun your friends who have 125s?

You have dirt bike experience so I would say that if you think you want a 250, then hold out for a 250. Buy used if you need to. You will never be riding the 250 and thinking, "Gee, I wish I had bought the 125 instead". If you buy the 125, however, it will always be in the back of your mind that you wanted the 250. The extra cost of buying the 250 now will be a lot less than the cost of selling a two year old 125 and buying a 250 two years from now.

As for the big jump: learn not to twist the throttle all the way! The size of the bike is the same, weight is nearly the same. I bet that you will get used to the power really fast.
