I would stiffen up the compression and maybe slow down the rebound a little bit. I'm guessing the WR is soft for off road. In sand you don't want it mushy and wallowing around under you. You should try to sit more to the rear of the bike to keep the front wheel from knifeing. And the more you stay on the gas the easier it is, but you will get very tired very quickly so make sure you get in the best shape you can.

Thanks Slojo. I'll set it up and have a go at it. I m jus worried about the tire choices. The race track is 60% sand and 40% dirt. any suggestions?

Any soft terrain/sand tire would probably be fine. Try Michelin s-12's or Dunlop 773's.

I have really good results with the Donlop 756 rear and 752 front, although the 752 is getting harder to find.
