Hi all, New to the forum but have been riding all my life. I am in Indiana and have a 1999 xr200r,2007 Polaris Sportsman 800 and a 1995 Yamaha Blaster 200.

My issue is with the blaster. It has always kick started in 1-3 kicks in the past. This summer it has been VERY hard to kick start at all when cold. I usually pull start it and once it is warmed up...it kick starts just fine.

any suggestions?

Thanks,

try kicking it over about three times with choke on and the ignition off. this will basically prime the cylinder with gas. turn it to "on" and it should fire up!

It's probably the reeds. Any warp, chip or crack can make it almost impossible to start cold. Inspect the reeds closely, or just replace them.

Could also be rings and piston are worn. If you have too little compression, cold starting is tough.
