i have a 1998 kx 250 that needs the shock rebuilt what exactly do they do (is it just new seals and fluid) and what will it cost. and can i do it myself
There is the shaft bushing that wears out, piston band, o-ring that holds the tension on the piston band and the sealhead. Some shops can repair the sealhead. Yes you can do this yourself, but most first timers will do more damage than good. Its a little tricky getting the shock full of with no air in it. Send it out, about 90 bucks plus parts.
