I am a 13 year old kid who has been riding various field bikes for about 5 years and am now looking to purchase my first real motocross bike. I am looking for a Japanese model (which ones are those!?:scream: ), below £2000, a 125 and less than 6 years old and capable of being raced. Which one would all you more experienced bikers recommend? Thank you very much for your help.

Good luck with an older 125 MX bike, make sure it is not thrashed, you could be into some expensive fixes.

So you want a 95 or so model, can't go wrong with a YZ125. You may want to consider the WR200/250 as well - Great starter bike which can be raced. I have a friend here in Amarillo who races an older WR250 (2 stroke), and he often wins his class, be it MX or arena/SX.

yeah hes right, cant really go wrong with yamaha. KX's are really nice too. but dont u guys have the almighty husky out there?to be honest i couldnt really recommend the perfect bike for motocross...because every motorcross bike i come into contact with becomes woods moded. but the older wr's and yz's are great bikes

I second (or third) the Yamaha reccomendation. However I would try to get a 1996 or newer, that way you can have a bike that is very similar and has much more power than a '95 YZ. Yamaha did a major revamp in 1996. I have one and it rips!
