Showa fork separation

I am having a hard time separating my fork leg/slider from the outer tube! They are Showa's off an 02 CR250. Have removed the dust seal and retainer clip in front of oil seal. No amount of force or swiftness will break them apart, have tried heating them with blow torch as suggested in a book by Eric Gorr. I am ready to give up, just want to change the seals and bushings! :bang: Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

did you try putting them in a soft jaw vise then pullin on it? i would think that would make it easier.
