Silencer core repair

The perforated core inside my silencer is cracked half way round at the "fixed" end.
Is there anyway to braze or weld this? Any ideas?
The inner core isn't available as a separate part and I'd hate to buy a whole new silencer if there is some way to fix this.

most engineering workshops have perforated sheet-just have them copy the std one.
