Skeleton - 2 Golds and a Silver for USA.

They are crazy! I got to meet Tristan, Chris Soul, Lincoln Dewitt, and Lea Ann And a few other skeleton racers down in Park city last year while they were training for the Winter Olympics. All very nice people. They would all agree that it is a blast and loads of fun; and they all swear that it is safer than racing motorcycles....i'm not sure about that one.

You should see some of their sleds..all patched up with duct tape, and yet they cost more than most motorcycles! yikes! They can only get about three practice runs in a day without starting to feel dizzy from the g-forces pushing their helmets down against the ice. Now thats a rush! :)

Very cool stuff, this is one sport I could be good at ! :)

Now picture this, a real skeleton racer for the summer olympics, as a kid we built these skeleton racers with 4 steel ball bearing wheels, two planks nailed together in a T, and a front axle bolted to the front, a knee pad at the back, two little knobs on the front axle for steering. We would take these ball-racers up the storm water drains where we lived, and race them down - talk about an extreme sport, head first down a dark tunnel, no helmet or protective gear - wheeeeee :p
