Just picked up a 01 KDX 220. The original owner (I'm the thrid) upgraded the pipe to a Procircuit Platimum. Anyway, I pulled the seat last night to clean the airfilter and saw the snorkel is still in place. Do you guys normally remove this? My last bike was a XR 400 and ran much better without the snorkel.

Check jetting using the WOT chop method. I believe you will find that you are slightly leaner with the airbox lid removed since the bike can now breath. Since KDX's are factory jetted rich anyway, this should improve performance and no re-jetting required but do the plug check anyway to be safe.

You should always rejet after changing something on a bike but in this case, unless it doesn't run the way you like, it doesn't need it. Like said, it runs rich stock so this opens it up a little.
