I live in AZ and since the AMA isn't involved with MX out her the new 250 rule doesn't apply. I'm originally from southwestern PA (D5 area) and I asked some of the guys I used to ride with back there if the noticed any more 250 smokers at the tracks. They don't race, just ride on practice days and they said they haven't noticed any more than usual. So how about you racers, have there been more 250 smokers showing up to race? Have any of you guys which back to a smoker?

There definitely were more 250 smokers in the A classes here in Wisconsin last weekend. I didn't pay as much attention to the other classes. Hard to tell what difference they made because for the most part they were ridden by the guys that were usually out front last season on their 250Fs in the Lites class.

well, technically it's a cycle. And, if you really wanted to get technical, they should be called 1-cycles, right?

i'm the only rider on a 250 two stroke at both of the tracks i go to, theres a few 125's in the junior lites (under 16 125/250F), and theres one kid on a YZ 125 in b grade seniors that absolutely haul's ass, even the 85 class over here is filled by CRF150R's with the odd KX, YZ or KTM 85 mixed in there, and the 65 class is started to get loaded up with 110 Chinese crap, even though the KTM and KX 65's whoop ass in there.

I know at the track across the street i haven't heard to many. All you hear is the 4-strokes, and then the occasional buzz of a 2-stroke.

I haven't gone over there because.... my bike is broke... but it doesn't sound like any more than usual...

not alot of them but there is for sure more then before. the whole idea wasn't to make them dominate, but to keep them a viable option. the rule did that, and is working well.
