I was reading my owners manual and noticed that Kawasaki's recommendation for a black plug is to use a BR7ES which is a hotter plug than the standard BR8ES

Anybody ever try this?

Yes that works as a temporary fix when out riding... but you should get your jetting right and you won't have that problem.:)

I figured as much. I picked up a 2001 KDX 220 this winter and am just starting to work on it. The bike seems to be totally stock. This site is a great source of info. I have to pick up some jets, but I have put about 25 half inch holes in the air box lid and removed the snorkel. The silencer dripped a couple ounces of spooge when I removed the cleanout prior to the work on the air box lid.

Thanks
