Since no one else seems to be posting results of the Nationals Race from this weekend I hopped on AMA's site to check it out.

250's = Carmichael 1st in both motos, Windham 2nd in both moto's and JBS 3rd in Moto 1 and Fonseca 3rd in Moto 2. Looks like JBS didn't finish Moto 2.

125's Moto 1 = Alessi 1st, Langston 2nd, Hepler 3rd
Moto 2 = Hepler 1st, Alessi 2nd, Tedesco 3rd.

Here's all the dirt:
http://www.amaproracing.com/05mx/binghamton/index-links.html

Found it interesting that JBS set the quickest lap time in Moto 2 with 02:15.738. Carmichael pulled 02:15.790 in Moto 1. Not sure if that speaks to the 2 stroke, the rider, the track, or a combination of all 3. Kinda nice to see the 2 smoke can hold it's own (even if for a short while).

yeah, I too have been wondering about Brownie that past month about going to the Nations. He seems to have definately slipped from earlier in the season. I wish I could see it on TV, then we could see if he isnt getting starts or what.

I <3 dowdy. he signed my hat. My mom graduated with a jon dowd. Not the same guy but SCARY SIMILAR. However i hate carmichael. He was a cocky ass-stain after moto 2. I wanted to see someone punch him in the head cause he was ridin so close to the people.

TWMX has some nice pics up from this race, I think Steve Giberson might be my favorite
photographer, either he has a really good eye, or that track is just too easy to get good shots on.

Not much exciting to chat about without Stewart....wait....maybe..something...... ONLY 3 Yamaha's in the 250/450 top 20! Guess Honda is the privatier choise with Suzuki making a come back! Been quite a while since Yellow has been a primary color. Now we have something to chat about....where are all those Yamaha's and KTM's ? There are as many Kawasaki 250's as Yamaha's 450's. Guess sooner or later that top heavy feel they have would do them in as the no. 1 four stroke... :nener:

What happened to Tedesco? Maybe we ought to replace him on the MXdN? :| Stewart's continuing problems are mind-boggling. I doubt he's crashed this much in any season of his pro or amateur career.

I wonder if their is something wrong with the new Yamaha four stroke frames this year... Remember the rumors about Chad Reed not liking his or wanting to ride his 04... I know they are rumors but maybe there is something to it... Might be too rigid...

Yeah, I hear you, just wait for the 2006 YZF.. Keep in mind it took Suzuki, what, 7, thats right, 7 years to produce their 450 (which alot of people criticize the frame as a CRF knockoff), and took Honda 4 years. I do agree that Yamaha ran their product line 2-3 years too long without a major overhaul, but that has happened now for 2006.
Of course the Honda will be the privateer choice, it has been the best all around bike for the past 3 years, but I think you will see a change next year in the privateer status, not only because of the redesigned YZF but also the KXF will be available as well.

as far as I know, the YZF has had the same frame for years. The new Aluminum Frame comes out in NOvember 2006, Team Yamaha isn't using them for this season, using the 2005 steel frames.
Reed has already stated that the new YZF is dialed in soo well that he may ride it over the ultralight yz250 for Supercross 2006 (even tho this could be a PR respsonse for the new bike launch)...

Apart from everts winning on his fairly std looking yz450 , lots of riders seem to struggle with them, i just think they are top heavy and outdated compared to the others.

I rode Okie's 05 CRF450 at Nocona in April and never rode my 04 YZ450 again. The power is comperable, but the handling and lower CG and feel is that much better. If I hadn't had my 05 YZ250 smoker on order, I'd be riding red right now. BTW-The 250 is sooo much better handling than the 450, and scary light too. :)

I agree with the current CRF's, but I really am interested to see how the 06 YZF will do, it should have alot of R&D into it. They are claiming that the handling and center of gravity has been corrected. If they fail, they will fail bigtime.

OK, Help me out here guys. I just saw the race and was wondering about these results

3 33 13 (8) 20 (3) 24 E. Fonseca Murrieta, CA Honda CRF450R
4 33 18 (4) 15 (6) 26 M. Byrne Murrieta, CA Kawasaki KX250

Ernesto got an 8 and a 3...... That equals 11.
Byrne got a 4 and a 6...... That equals 10.

So why did Ernesto get a 3rd and Byrne get 4th? I thought lower points got a better result and if you got a tie then the second moto decided who got the spot. Why didn't Byrne get 3rd?

They both scored 33 points, so they tied on points (there is a 2 point difference between 3rd & 4th place in a moto). But since Ernie beat Byrne in the 2nd moto he wins the tie breaker.

I guess I don't know what the points alloted are for the positions earned. Could some one post them?

Thanks
