The current results chart at AMAmotorcross.com Shows Chad Reed as finishing 16th in moto 1,,, the lap chart show him 5th with a lap to go,, anyone know what happened.

And Josh,, he was 15th in SX lites for the 06 season,, It seems he found at least one fast lap, one very fast lap.. but not too many more as he finished 20 overall. :yikes:

How, exactly, does altitude make a bike blow up? The bikes are already making less horsepower due to thinner air (about 3% less oxygen per 1000 feet of altitude, plus heat also thins the air even more)

Of course, less air means less air to cool the engine, but that is partially mitigated by less power being produced.

i just assumed it's jetting errors. what else could it be? coincidence? it was said that nine bikes blew up today.

I can't tell you how many bikes blew up, but I can tell you that there were quite a few that were running a little less than "crisp". Looked to me like Chad stalled and couldn't get it to re-fire....might have blown I suppose, but there was no smoke or anything. Great racing overall.......beautiful track, beautiful weather!

He's the man, that's who. I used to watch him race at Baja MX in Michigan a lot.

Which brings me to my next question, how come Nick Wey is listed as being from Murrieta, CA, he's a Dewitt Michigan boy!

Anyway, those results sure don't look like what I was expecting. It's good to see things getting mixed up at least a little, even though Carmichael is still killing em. My buddy was at the race yesterday calling me with updates.

Oh, I can see them not getting the bikes properly jetted, but if they did nothing, the bikes would be too rich.

They'd have to biff it pretty bad to get them too lean. It'll be interesting just how much the electronic fuel injection will improve things (or not).

Bummer on Reed...like he didn't already have enough trouble just making the podium. Millsaps looks to be doing GREAT on the big bike though. And nice to see DV12 doing better after that horrendous SX season.

Whats the word on JBS, RacerX said that he wasnt 100% but raced for the fans. I thought he had sustained a concussion last event, is it more than that? anyone?

Stewart's camp claims it wasn't a concussion; he was just sore. I think he said it hurt all over more than anyplace else.

JBS was definitely not 100%. I was really hoping Ricky would get a bad start in the second moto, and that Stewart would get the holeshot. It wasn't meant to be, and RC dominated as usual, but at least Stewart and Windham had a good battle going for a couple laps.
The altitude was definitely getting to the bikes. I even think Ricky nursed his RMZ for the last 10 minutes of the first moto.

Millsaps is flying out there, I'm really impressed with his riding this year. He went from a year of never seeing the podium and never getting a holeshot to a year where he's been on the podium in the BIG class with back-to-back holeshots.

I went into the pits on Saturday to "see who I could see", and I was able to watch RC, KW, Hepler, Walker, DV, the YoT crew, Ryno, RV, and a few others. Out of about a dozen guys, RC was the ONLY with a smile. All the other guys made it uncomfortable to be around them, but RC was just chillin' in on the ramp to the back of his semi, talking and smiling. I've got a few pictures I'll post up if I can.

Just following up on earlier comments.. Chad kicked his bike for a good minute or two trying to get the thing fired up. Makes sense to learn he was out of fuel. That's a bummer for him, as he was running strong.

Short abruptly slowed up a few laps in to moto 2 while leading and then pulled off. Kinda looked like a gearbox problem.. It's too bad, because Villopoto had just made a mistake and gotten passed by him.

Stewart seemed to have a limited amount of energy on tap for moto 2, which was expended getting himself from the back of the pack up to 4th. Half way thru the moto he really faded and didn't look like himself, and eventually got chased down and passed by Windham, who he had earlier passed. Toward the end it looked like Ferry was also rapidly catching him.

Millsaps was the man of the weekend.
