i need to get a new sprocket, what size do i get? im guessing the 48-52 option is the teeth. do i need to see what kind i have and get the same one or what one is best if i can pick any?

Sprockets all depend on what type of riding you do, as far as how many teeth you want but if you liked the bike before get what you had on there

If I recall the 2000 had a 49 tooth rear sprocket. If you'd like a little more grunt on the low end then get a 50 or 51, if you don't have any complaints with the current performance get another 49. Also keep in mind you should replace both sprockets and the chain as a set or you may be throwing your money away by destroying a brand new rear sprocket with a worn chain.
