sst pipe with a 144 kit

Anyone ran the sst pipe on the YZ with a 144 kit?
I have been told by two people that it will run to hot, but I have seen a couple of old posts from someone running this combo.
My son has the sst on his bike now and does not want to buy a new pipe if it's not needed.
