I would like to get a Scotts steering damper for my 04 kx250 that is ridden mostly in the rocks/woods. I am a bit leery to have the post welded on the frame, anybody have any experiences with these dampers? Thanks, John.

Used the bolt on on my 99 KX, no issues at all. I really miss that thing too, even on moto tracks it's beneficial.

I have a bolt-on on my CR. No problems at all with the mount and the damper is amazing. Rocks and woods are where these dampers really shine. You will not be disappointed.

I prefer bolt on so it doesn't affect resale (having that cobby post sticking up after the damper is removed for selling), either works though as long as you use anything but GPR. Getting ready to sell my GPRV2, after trying 4 of those things, I am giving up on them for good. Scotts, Emig, or WER all quality units
