Issue #14 of Cycle News has a short article about the limited edition (300 made) replica of Steve McQueen's favorite motorcycle - the "Triumph TR6-powered Mark 3 Metisse-framed desert racer". Would love to ride one.

The article then describes the jump Bud Ekin's made in the movie "The Great Escape" and how some believe he didn't really do it, that it was "special effects", blah, blah, blah.

Bah!!!!!

They didn't have special effects back then. If it was fake, it would look fake.

Interesting trivia, McQueen actually did do some stunt work in the movie and it turned out that Ekins was McQueen and the German Chasing McQueen was really McQueen, so McQueen was chasing himself. And the time space continuum continues.
