I currently have the UFO Twins Headlights and have grown tired of them for several reasons. I'd like to get the stock headlight and get rid of the UFO one. I have tried to find a used one on "that" site, but no luck. Can anyone advise on a good aftermarket one? I need the complete unit...shell and light. Does Acerbis make one? Any help is appreciated!!!

The problem with the stock headlight is that it's rigidly mouted to the trees and gets wadded pretty quick. I went with a UFO twins, eventually destroyed that, and am now running a UFO Ray (non DOT). You have to order them with the smaller straps, or you have to rig the larger straps to work. UFO supposedly makes a KDX/KLX replica (strap mounted), but I couldn't find one available when I was looking.

This page has a bunch of different headlight info (funky page, keep scrolling down to see everything):

Acerbis does make one and I current have it install on my KDX.
I had the same UFO light as you and it was terrible but I love the new
light. There are 3 hook ups on it low beam, high beam and running lamp.
I just hooked up the low beam and it's more than bright enough. I just saw it
on Chaparral for 65.99 and it's called the CE/DOT Certified DHH headlamp.

It's under offroad then Electrical. Good luck with it and enjoy.

There is a "seller store" on "that site" that sells the UFO (I think it's called the Sahara model) for about $40. Looks just like the OEM, but mounts with the straps rather than the rigid mounts. Doesn't break when you hit trees. BB will sell you the OEM, although it's about $100.

Jason,

I've been thinking of changing out my stocker for a twin set-up (for aesthetics)...interested in a trade? Can you shoot some pics to me at: kwb377 at msn_dot_com?

Thanks!

Hey! Do you have the UFO Sahara light? I see on that store where you can get it for $40, but it's pretty much a universal headlight. Wasn't sure if it would fit on my KDX. I couldn't find any kind of fitment chart or anything. Thanks!!!

get a UFO Ghibli. it's identical to the stock KDX unit and you can get the 35w version for about $45

I have a yellow DOT (55/60w) version on my DRZ

kwb 377-

Sorry, but it looks like someone just barely beat you to it. I have sold the UFO Twins light and it looks like I will be purchasing another UFO light similiar to stock. I apologize.

Looks like the UFO Ghibli is identical to the UFO Sahara, just a different name. I think that's the one I will go with. Found it for $39 brand new. I'll try and make my own relocating kit...thanks for the advice!!!

No prob...sorry I haven't responded to the e-mail. The IT nazi's at work block access to personal e-mail from the PC's here (I haven't made it home yet).

From what I can tell, the stock straps on most of the UFO lights are for USD forks and are larger than what we need. The UFO Twins I used previously had the larger straps and I had to rig them to work. When I ordered the UFO Ray that I'm using now, I had my parts guy order it with the optional smaller straps. Much nicer.
