Just bought a brand new CRF70F and noticed that the cylinder nuts are not all the same. Three are acorn type and one is a regular nut. Also one of the washers under an acorn nut is copper colored instead of silver colored like the rest?

Is this normal?

I've always heard that no two nuts are alike, but this is ridiculous!

That's just plain weird!

Thanks for the replies. I went to a website for Honda parts and the diagram shows the different nuts and washers.

Everything is as it should be.

Sometimes you feel like a cap nut, sometimes you don't?

 Jackpiner. The reason they use a cap nut and a copper washer is because that engine feeds the oil to the top end through the stud holes. The cap nuts keep the oil from leaking through the threads. :thumb:

ol'89r, Thanks for that info, it's good to know how the oil gets up there. :)
