I just tore my 2002 CR250 engine apart for the first time. I last rode it February and I didnt' winterize, er, summerize, it with oil down the plug hole. The piston was stuck in the bore and the powervalve seemed to have some rust on it. Both rings are stuck.

The cylinder is in excellent shape except where the rings sat for six months. It's not exactly rust but it's some lighter form of corrosion.

Should I take some 600 grit to it? Will it need a hone? Let the new piston/rings take care of it?
