All.
I'm in the middle of a shock rebuild and need some advice. I been reading the posts regarding this topic but I'm unsure of what "weight" of oil to use in the shock. Can someone tell me what I should use and why. I assume the thicker the oil the slower the shock will work??? How do the different weights effect the shock?

I myself have a 97 CR80 and i use 5w. Works just fine, thicker oil can be used but it just slows the movement down a little bit. Go to your local dealer, they should have it.

5w is what you should use no thicker or thinner, if you want a stiffer or softer ride use the adjuster screws, however you can add more or less of the standard oil capacity to soften or stiffen the shock at full compression. hope this helps- bjawes
